Question for the Veg Growers
My back garden is tiny and enclosed by fences on 3 sides and the house on the 4th side. I've found one patch that gets the sun for the afternoon only, not mornings and not evenings. I could put some tubs of veg along there - its beside the path to the back door. I might fall over them when I'm hanging out the washing but it will be worth it for fresh veg! Would tatties do there? Other things I like are onions and syboes. And maybe kale but not too much of it.. What do you think?

From my limited understanding, Greens, salad leaves, beans, peas, Chard etc will give us the fastest crops with the least demands. Plus double or continuous cropping opportunities. Root crops, spuds, onions, leeks etc either take far longer or demand more light.jansman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 3:54 pm Try this for a start lil : https://www.gardenersworld.com/plants/1 ... for-shade/

Ok thanks both, will sort something out.

A lot will depend on the month you're growing in and how quickly you want a crop. Last year I experimented with putting a pallet against a wall and drilling in pots for vertical gardening. Lots of fun. It really enlarges your space and it's great for drainage. Mix in some flowers (obviously nothing poisonous like geraniums) and you have a fetching feature wall that's insta ready!
