Gerber .....

Post by Yorkshire Andy »

Well my trust Gerber suspension that I got way back 8 years ago for the princely sum of £22 on Amazon either sale or Miss priced  lost its thumb tag a while ago from the knife blade ....

So I was looking to replace it the knife gets a fair bit of use and the one handed opening comes very handy ...

When I stumbled on the 25 year warranty when looking at other Gerber's ...

Quick email to friscars uk who distribute them. With a photo of the bust thumb tag and a screen shot of the last purchase this on Amazon in 2014

Email reply today to send my address they don't repair but a foc replacement is now in the post

Leatherman do the same. The pocket clip went on my Sidekick. They replaced it. A lot said for quality.

Yep they told me to keep the original so I'm off into the workshop tomorrow and try and weld a blob to grind up to a DIY thumb tag ;)

It is  I've got some very nice multitools but the simplicity of the suspension and the chunky feel wins over many especially at work when though the blade locks it's probably the least aggressive looking thing

Got a couple of the suspension multitools and the knives. Good bits of kit - had forgotten about the warranty though
