Hello all!

I've been looking around here for a couple of weeks and am very glad to find a UK site like this! I've seen so many US sites but this is great!

Here's a bit about me:

I'm in my twenties, female, about to start a PhD (astroparticle physics), also a full-time carer for my best friend. I've been interested in prepping and survivalist stuff since I was a child, though many people think I'm completely off my rocker lol. Was in the Girl Guides, which was useful... also on my school shooting team (though I don't shoot anymore - no licence or weapon and no means to get one right now). Grew up in the New Forest but am now trapped in the middle of a big city. Hopefully one day I can move back to the countryside!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and looking forward to getting to know you all and interacting here!

Hehe well I think I'm quite sane... but I suppose that's up for debate! Really though, I just like to keep my eyes and ears open, and be as prepared as I can rather than stick my head in the sand and pretend things could never get bad here (or that even if they did the government would help us )

I'm glad to meet some more women preppers - seems to be male dominated for some reason (unless I'm just looking in the wrong places!)
