I tend to use Accuweather for weather forecasts on my iPhone. Some others I have, don't think they were free though except disaster alert, strobe light, tweetdeck and aroundme

Disaster Alert - exactly what it says on the tin
Solar Monitor - monitoring solar weather
Tapatalk - for browsing forums, i.e this one :)
SASSurvival guide - full version
Strobe light
Tweetdeck- great for finding out news before its on the media, like weather and traffic
AroundMe - Useful for finding shops, petrol stations, cash points, etc near you
By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail - Benjamin Franklin

An app i have found really useful is called Stitcher its a radio station with on demand and live radio prodcast. I use it on my Android phone but ita available for iphone and ipad.

If you go to the on demand shows section there are lots of different interests you can browse like News, Politics and Education. If you go to the Society & Culture section and scroll down to Skepticism you can find the Preppers Podcast. When you click on a station it gives you a list of other stations with similar themes so you can look around and find some good prepper based stuff. The channels are all American (suprisingly) but there is a show on the preppers podcast from the UK.

The two stations i listen to the most are Preppers Podcast and ITRH Urban Survival Podcast but i have added 11 different channels to my favorites. The shows last anything from 30 mins to 2hrs+ and cover a wide range of Prepper topics.
