I am after a radio, solar powered, with a good range. To be used in emergencies, so able to pick up emergency channels (if there is such a radio)
Can anyone suggest what would be good to get?
Thank You

Was wondering about this one, if any one has an opinion.

Re: Radios
Used to be that the Wartime Broadcasting Service reduced broadcast channels (radio and TV) as needed until only the long-wave BBC service was left. Those days are gone and your most reliable emergency information may now be found on FM local radio (as long as the power lasts) and Sky TV. Al Jazeera is also increasingly getting a reputation for honest, unbiased, accurate, world news.
Also don't forget the ham bands especially the 2m and 70cm bands, (144-146 MHz and 430 - 440 MHz) which will carry on after grid power failure.
I have separated the functions, radio and solar battery charger, so I have flexibility in use.
