This is a very moving film produced by the Georgia State Health Dept., not sure when as I missed the date but I think 40s or 50s. It shows the work of one of the "granny midwives" of the time and how they worked hand in hand with the health dept to give as good care as they possibly could. It shows both a prepared and unprepared home.

I suppose I wanted to share it because I think it still has good information for us, even in 2012, especially if there comes a time when some of our health facilities and electricity, etc are in short supply. Note that even in the good home it does not appear to have running water. Hygeine and making an improvised incubator stood out to me.

There is a graphic birth scene. I think the lady who was willing to share her birth, at that time, for the good of others, was very courageous and generous.
