I STRONGLY recommend

"Why Your World is About to Get a Whole Lot Smaller" by Jeff Rubin.

(available for Kindle download as well as in book shops ( even cheap £2 bookshops!! )).

All about the economics and politics of Oil and whats happening now we are reaching peak, how water / food / population / financial crisis / etc., affects oil, how oil affects us, how economies will have to change and gives a vision of the future which is pretty believable.

It is VERY information rich, well researched and referenced and, what is most wonderful about it, is that it is written in such a conversational style, that its quite easy to read and the information is easy to absorb.
