Over a bottle of wine last night our neighbour produced his new purchase and started to demonstrate. Of course, out comes my phone so I could share pictures. Some of you may have seen one/used one/have one but here goes.
The Solo Stove:
purchased from the USA £35.00 plus import tax
started with a few dry twigs and feed to keep going, but over all not much more than a handful to boil a pan of water in 5 mins which made 2 mugs of tea.
I thought it was a bit bulky for backpacking but as an extra way to boil water/cook a small amount of food using a small amount of fuel then a useful piece of kit. My neigbour is off to the states in a few weeks and has offered to get one and bring it back for me so I don't have to pay the import tax. Might consider it.

Re: Solo Stove
Su, I checked out the link. The stove on that website is $70.00, which works out at £44.00 on today's exchange rate. Does your neighbour think he can get one cheaper than $70.00 in a store over there?
Re: Solo Stove
Su,
see if he can get one of these instead:

It flat packs, weighs 116g, has a door so you don't have to lift your pot off to refill the stove.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Re: Solo Stove
I've got a simillar but a bit taller one and it came with a mug and a flask. Bought 2 on ebay for around £30-40 for both but sadly you can't get them anywhere now.
