can anyone recommend a decent portable water filter system. Been having a look online and there are plenty to choose from but i want something that is lightweight and built to last.many thanks

For emergency portableness, Milletts the camping people have some kind of filter that fits inside a water bottle - I think they're calling it a bobble ...

For me there is only one portable - Lifesaver bottle. You can even p*ss in it and drink it without any second thoughts :lol:

the bobble isn`t micro safe , i`lll stick to my life saver bottle .

thanks guys, will check out those suggestions, would you agree tho that living in the Uk its pretty easy to find good drinking water, what with all the rain we have.

It's easy to find water, not so easy to find clean water. I wouldn't trust any non-standard source without filtering/purifying or boiling it.

had a look on ebay for the lifesaver bottle, £138.00 on there, went to the lifesaver website and they are selling them direct for £99 inc VAT!! still expensive but worth it.

Of course you can let the water settle, run it through a cloth then boil it. Dead cheap.

I just bought 2 lifesaver bottles and am planning to get another 2 for the stock pile (2 will be used when camping, abroad, etc.)
