Hi fellow preppers.
I live in West Sussex, im 32 male married with 2 children (6 & 3).
Although we live fairly close to a decent sized town we are quite remote and suffer badly in harsh winters. For this reason i have always had well stocked cupboards etc but have decided this year to be a bit more organised with my preperation and also build on what i have already as my preps are based on short term needs i need to start factoring in long term survival in case the SHTF.
My background is in electronic/electrical engineering with a good hobbiest understanding of mechanical engineering.
Currently my main preperation is:
Vehicle. I have purchased a 1996 Land Rover Discovery as a second vehicle (easy to maintain/ repair as its old enough to not rely on huge amounts of electronics). I have good experience of driving this vehicle in all conditions both on and off road. this vehicle is in addition to my main vehicle so is always backed with a lot of kit so doubles as a BOV.
Food & Water. This needs some work as i have always based my plans on only needing a couple of weeks supplies at most.
Power/Lighting/Heating
I have several generators with a resonable supply of fuel that will be deployed to run essential equipment including freezers in the event of power failure. I also have a very large generaor at my business premises that can be brought home in the event of longer term issues, this will run the whole house for several days with the onboard fuel. All generators are regularilly serviced by me and are stored fueled and ready to go.
I have fitted 3 emergency type lights to the house so in the event of power failure i will still have some lighting while i put my plans into operation.
i have approximatly 300 candles, matches and various torches with spare batteries stored.
Cooking - as we are electric only i have purchased 3 portable gas stoves and a large store of gas canisters so i can heat food.
So thats me as i stand, i hope to learn lots from thsi forum and hopefully in turn i can help others
Alan

Re: greetings from Sussex
Hi Alan, welcome to the forum - you sound like you've made a really fantastic start.
And we had a meet in Sussex last week, in Three Bridges! What a shame ... still, I'd like to stick up an advert for a meet every 6 months or so, we'd gradually be able to review preps, look at really learning from one another, that sort of thing.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
