I just want to share something very interesting that I found out while talking to a very lovely, helpful man in Tesco tonight. Basically, all the food in the reduced section (the stuff that has the yellow stickers on) has to be reduced at specific times and to a specific amount. Which means you have to get there at exactly the right time - normally quite late at night - if you want to get any decent bargains. And of course by that time there's generally nowt left, and who wants to prowl around Tesco at 11pm anyway?

BUT, if you find some produce that is on it's sell-by date that does not have a sticker on, this 'review' process is overridden and the product can be reduced manually. This is the reason that I got 20 Tesco Finest outdoor reared pork and red onion sausages and four pieces of braising steak for £2.69 tonight.
I had to throw out some spicy veggie burgers and some potato waffles to get it all in the freezer, but ne'er mind. So that's nine meals for less than £3.00! The steak is in the slow cooker now, with LOADS of lovely red onion gravy. Yum yum.
And before anyone asks, no, I'm not a vegetarian who's defected at the sight of cheap meat. I just happen to really like a particular brand of veggie burger.
