Rehydration sachets (Dioralyte)
I have a few (dozen) of these in my various BOB/GHB set-ups incase of diarrhea, obviously, but I was wondering if it would be advisable to take this stuff simply to help combat the effects of dehydration by itself?

Rehydration sachets (Dioralyte)
I too carry a pack when we go on holiday to reduce the effects. But I really don't think it is worth stockpiling. It is so easy to make an effective solution from sugar and salt.

There was available a special spoon with two ends available to the aid agencies. One end was for the dose of sugar and the other for salt. One scoop of each into a glass of water was the ideal rehydration mixture. I never found one for sale and I have not heard of them for a few years, not to difficult to reproduce I suppose.
There also was a trick way of measuring without a measure, a flat handful of sugar and a pinch of salt I think, not too sure, does anyone know the definitive way?
As to taking just to counter dehydration I suspect that it will depend on why you are dehydrated. If you have just not drunk enough you will not need the salts but is it is from sweating you might. It all depends. Perhaps it is best not to dehydrate in the first place.
