Batteries??

Post by Erik137 »

Could anyone advise me how to store batteries without succumbing to the dreaded 'age drain', I don't want to store a mass of batteries only to have nada when it comes to actually needing them?

These are some main points i keep coming across when i ask the world........ Don’t mix new and old batteries, this draws more power from the new battery, thus shortening its life.
DON’T store batteries or battery-powered devices in hot places — elevated temperatures can lead to capacity loss, leakage or rupture and don't store batteries in cold places either this drains them!.

Check out this link its goes well into it! http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/arti ... _batteries

To be honest with ya Erik137 i just keep my main supply in a plastic box at the moment and then keep the box at room temp! I have some in the my BOB which is keeped in my car wrapped up in my softie..... they have been there for almost six months and still work fine.

ALWAYS keep them in original packs(rattling loose they will discharge) store them in cool dark place. Funny enough the ideal conditions for most things!
I have used (rarely used sizes) two years out of date. No problems.
Hope that helps.
