First aid kit

Post by xcitingstuart »

I found a really good link, but it is expensive for first aid if you are willing to spend money. The entire website is good which I found on another post.

I use Heinnie, mainly for buying knives I don't need

Yes, expensive and do you know how to use it all? I don't.

So what are you gong to do to find out how to use all the equipment?

Or better still undertake a recognised first aid course where you will get advice on what sort of stuff you should have in a first aid kit.

Learning about it first is neccessary ofcourse, but half the stuff in the set can be reused e.g. bag, containers

I would not buy that kit  I looked over the review and its all old stuff (Alice) and for that money you would want a nurse to come with it as well! I recommend putting your own kit together, here is a good link: http://www.stjohnsupplies.co.uk/ to help ya start. If you don't have any experience in first aid do a FPOS course. Just some friendly advice :)

Learning and understanding what every bit of kit that is in a first aid kit is paramount. You should definitely go on a first aid course, I have been on a few courses my hopeful career choice kinda requires it. But once you have them life skills then they should last you a lifetime in knowledge (just like prepping) but they must be practiced again And again so that they stay fresh your Mind for when they are really needed.

I would do a recognised First Aid course first then make up your own kit to suit your knowledge and comfort level. You can buy a lot of good FA kit for that amount of cash.

The life systems kits are good for everyday stuff if you don't want to make up your own.

You would be amazed what you can do with some ambulance dressings a few triangular bandages and some surgical tape.

Good luck with the training courses..

A little tip:

The most important bandage is the triangular one...it makes just about everything else in an emergency.
It is also the reason that Guides and Scouts wore a triangular tie for so many years.
