I'm new to prepping and basically started after coming across a few videos on YouTube which I suppose opened my eyes to the WHAT IF?
My current prepping is pretty backwards compared to what I've read on here, and other sites for that matter. Basically I have no food or water stored, mainly due to not having space. Instead my priorities have been medical (basic items like dressings, painkillers and other general first aid items) and what i suppose could be called life sustaining items like foil blankets for warmth and basic cooking items.
I suppose the above sounds pretty pathetic but the idea behind it is that I'd have the basic essentials to last a week if for instance there's a flood, power outage or some kind of amenity strike (not for an apocalyptic situation). The plan so far is that I'd have enough food in the cupboard to last a week, such as canned goods. I'd have the equipment to cook even if the gas mains were cut and have items to keep warm.
My current plan regarding water is a little far fetched but about 100 metres from where I live there's a river, the current plan if to filter and purify it either by boiling or purifying tablets. I say far fetched because I'd have no 100% clean water to start off with, apart from what's in the toilet reservoir.
And that's it. Looking forward to reading the forum and see what others have planned.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
