Knot App (so what is it!)

Post by Spiderwebb »

I've seen some good info re knots in the forum and thought I'd share an app I purchased called 'Knots 3D'. It cost £1.50 and IMO does a decent job of teaching how to tie a large variety of knots. It uses some good 3d animation which can be slowed down, magnified and spun 360 degrees.

I discovered it when looking to improve how I secure loads on my trailer. I'll also learn some more for stuff like tying the dog lead to a post, joining shorter lengths together and some for climbing.

Enjoy!

I've looked at it the same thoughts. It is a good app for learning and improving you knot skills.

Also for those that don't want to buy the app there is a website for the same info

There are no doubt several others, just punch 'knots' into Google.

I would avoid trying all of them. I'd learn 2-3 and get good at it. Most of the knots do similar jobs anyway I would recommend:
1) Bowline
2) clove hitch
3) Reef Knot

They will pretty much cover most eventualities.
