Lazy Beds

Post by redskies »

I mentioned these in the 'what are you going to grow' thread, and thought I'd put up a post about them for anyone who might find the info useful, in light of last years weather!

What is a lazy bed? Well, it's one of these. Traditionally used in the boggier, wetter areas of the country to provide good drainage. Of course, nothing much is going to help if your ground is actually under water, but these might help prevent it getting that far. It's a method I plan to use when we cultivate ground (Had the offer of the use of an acre, but it's two miles away and we have no transport right now, so still considering) as it's effective in keeping where you're growing well drained.

Hope this is some use and wish you all the best of growing this year :)

Looking forward to doing this as it has been really really wet here.
