Bugging out drills.

Post by Vanguard_prep1 »

So you think you've got enough supplies to last a year or so but what happens if you need to bug out! Do you have a plan? And do you put your plan to the test at least once a year?

Running bug out drill will help you find any floors in your plan and also help everyone in your group perfect there rolls and less likely to panic when the time come you need to bug out for real.

I run a drill every 4 months along side our trip to the family cabin in scotland..

Why not pop in and introduce yourself in the new members area, where about are you and why are you prepping ?

Jamie

ps did you practice during the snows last week i would think that if you could get there in that snow , with the road networks snarelled up you could get there at any time, just a thought and what would happen if your cabin had been taken over when you arrived ?
Be Prepared.
Plan like its the last loaf on the shop shelves.
Plan like its the last beer in the fridge.

Sadly are end of year trip/drill missed the snow. But our LR defender is very good in snow and i've lots of off road training from my time in the army.

If you take a look in the new members section you will see that he has already given an introduction.

I do drill, with all my kit and also just what I'm wearing. Ill set an alarm on my phone a few month ahead of me but it put any reminders for it. So that I generally forget about it. So It comes out of the blue.

At the moment it's just a bit of fun but, I can now get out of most places on foot within my local area.

The mobile phone reminder is a good idea. Its sort of what I do with two of my prepper buddies, once a year while doin the family bug out drill ill text them "BUG OUT" out of the blue in turn putting there bug out plan into swing.

This is something I need to work on. The items aren't so much of a problem, but rather the plan its self. I have thought about it long and hard but I have no idea where I would go... I know many roads that lead out of my area (a lot being hidden rural roads which most people don't know about). I'll have to kick myself into action

I'm still working on what might make me want to bug out

So far very little around to want to, I might want to stay with family or friends for a day, maybe two, but bugging out is not the way to go really, a nice sedate wander is much better, and around here much more likely.

I seem to have that fight or flight gean, if i got wind of SHTF situation I would be on the road in 30 mins...you can always come back if the situation changes....leave it to long and tick, tick, tick, boom...

I love the timer, event on the smartphone idea....i am so doing that....just hope i am in a good meeting at work when my Red Alert Alarm goes off.
