Infantry Bergen as a GHB

Post by essgee23 »

I was at an army surplus store last week, and they had a delivery of 1 single brand new 45 Ltr Infantry Bergen / Day Bag.

It was very nice indeed.

But £75 - which I dont have spare for a BOB or GHB for the car, it was too much.

Im looking arond on line - to no avail thus far.

Does any one have experience with this bag? Especially with extra MOLLE pockets etc that can be added - it just looks great, and felt so comfy :)

And anyone know where I can get one at more of a bargain price please...

Hope I dont regret not snapping this one up.

I have had a couple in the past, but traded them for a black 80ltr bergen.

No dont want to be doing that, too many bad experiences there. :x

Agree with PM that black is better actually, more discreet, it'd likely be tucked in the car for a GHB so wouldnt make much difference.

Will keep searching around... :)

Hi, like you I was looking for a bergen, but the price was a bit much on ebay, in the end I got a medium alice pack with frame for £40, very very pleased with it, got it in the sales section of British Blades, worth a look as they often have this type of thing. :D

Hi, don't know if this site will be any good to you. It's a trade place they have a min order value but if you need enough kit, or there are a few of you who can club together it's worth a look I think. All the best. www.fieldtextiles.co.uk

Try armynnavy.com or becketts adventure. Just got a 60 litre other arms bergen for £16.99. Excellent condition and you can add side packs if you need more capacity. I think these are a greatly underated bit of kit.

Field Textiles run http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk and that site has no minimum order amount. I've bought a few bits and bobs from them, including an infantry bergen which was just 25 quid. It didn't come with the side pockets but it's still good value.
