Ouch ... I have cast iron drain pipes too ... I got a builder to quote for installing a water butt attachment, and from memory I think it was about £170    Not good! The water butts have been rolling about in the garden all winter  I've just cleared a space *near* the drainpipe for one of them to stand. We'll see.

I only got the one quote, I think I'd rather *talk* to somebody about it first.

Be Prepared.
Plan like its the last loaf on the shop shelves.
Plan like its the last beer in the fridge.

Wilkinsons sell them ... and, um, I have an angle grinder :) my shoulder isn't strong enough to use it, but I *have* it. I need a cunning plan ...

i have a 4.5" grinder but wont be able to cut all the way through with that i think it would need to be a 9" or 12" im thinking 2 extra brackets might be needed to suport the join.
