So I am lucky enough to be going on two holidays abroad this year, Barbados in august (hurricane season) and Cyprus in september, it got me thinking.......
what would you suggest I take with me for just incase situations..... being rather new to "prepping" I dont really know what I should take with me,
I obviously dont want to take too much with baggage allowances and all that jazz and not sure what should be avoided apart from the obviouse!
Great holidays! Tell you what I'm taking, for sure, when I go on holiday - my water filter. And a map. Not thought further than that yet, but I'll be watching this thread.
dont for get a lot of things you might need you wont be able to take with you ( such as knives etc ) but a first aid kit a standard for travel anyway as are purification tablets and a torch , when you think about it a lot of people traveling abroad become preppers !! even if its just for two weeks !!
We are off to a good start thats the main reason for this thread, as restrictions are in place for almost everything these days so is kinda hard knowing what you should have!
Don't forget that a lot of the Caribbean is very poor... money belt, or something discreet would be a good idea - and leave jewellery etc at home! Also a good water bottle, high factor sunscreen and I found a simple square cotton scarf really useful - dip it in water a tie around head or neck when overheated. Only been once - but it's the most beautiful place - have fun!
Something to keep you regular and something to stop it.

Some method of water purification.

Telephone numbers - written down - home, doctor, embassy and those above.
Pre paid phone card
Pre paid credit card
Spare wallet/purse with fake cash and cards to hand to muggers
Deck of cards
Phone /gadget charger and adaptors
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Fantastic list but I would suggest buying a cheap basic phone(if you don't already have one) that way if you do get mugged you will not be handing over your nice phone

Further advice on the Phone issue. Check what your plan provider is going to gouge you on using it abroad.... For that matter do likewise for credit/debit cards and your hole-in-the-wall
E111, medical travel insurance (Its prepping too)
Radio
Re-hydration packs, bug-spray
You can take something like a SAK but it Must be in your checked bag, not your carry-on

Travel insurance is No 1 on my list for travelling aboard the E111 is only useful in Europe and not really substitute for Travel Insurance. Online application for E111 here https://www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/startApplication.do
be careful as some companies will try and charge you for getting a e111. The link I have posted is a free one.
