Just thought I would put a bunch of the gas bottles in stock that a lot of the cheap suitcase stoves use now.

Hi TGN I have loads of these in stock as well. The only thing I find is that at freezing level they don't work very well as I found out on some camping trips,but a good back up for home

I found the same when using them in the small gas fires using those cannisters, I think it is because the way the gas leaves the can through the small nozzle, the old Camping Gaz stoves with the puncture can didn't have the same issues. At least with these you can remove one and put in a fresh one

Make sure that you store them in safe vented containment. Keep them well away from any source of ignition. These cannisters have major thermobaric qualities. Always shake the cannister prior to use in very cold - near or sub zero temperatures. Where practical Propane works better at these temperatures than Butane

Could anyone tell me how long gas bottle last's if I store them and how best to store them please.
I for one am glad that we have a diffrent type as I could never puncher the other types

These cans are good for many years if stored in a cool dark and dry place.

But they are really expensive in comparison to other types of gas bottles which can often be filled at petrol stations if you have their permission to do so.

These cans are good for short term use and easy to pop one in the car etc for use away from home, but for longer term get a big bottle and a good little stove.

propane and lpg , same stuff the only differance is the way its delivered .lpg in your car is delivered to your engine bay as a liquid and needs warming to become a gas , propane is delivered as a gas to your cooker or heater . if you invert a propane bottle of any size you can run your car on it ,but you can`t run your cooker / heater on lpg as the pick up tube is set to deliver it as a gas . but both can be refilled of an lpg pump if you know the owner .

There are refillable Gas cylinders on the market aimed at the Camping and caravanning fraternity. No cheap but you can fill up at any petrol station with LPG.

i see what your saying , but this would have to a permanant fixture in either your vehical or trailer . were as propane bottles are more ,,,,, whats the word for it ,,, versatile /mobile .yes you would need an adaptor to fill it . in a worse case senario they would become desposable as and when you find more , not forgetting that lpg pumps need electric to operate .

In case anyone is interested B&M stores are doing these canisters for 4 for £4 if you only want to buy smaller quantities. The only thing that bothers me about the stoves these are used for is even at the more expensive side, they can be unreliable. I've had one of the higher/branded price ones leak gas from a seal after being stored over the winter and the same with a cheaper one. Some of the outdoor stores do the stoves really cheap and to be honest I have found the cheap ones as good (and bad) as the expensive ones. So snap 'em up if you can get them at a fair price as they are good in the house if the gas/electricity goes off unexpected. Used one of them to cook up a brekkie for the engineer who had to turn gas off to fix the boiler last year so the prepping came in useful then
