I'm sure Hugh F-W (the River Cottage bloke) has done a few recipes for rabbit that don't look like bits of Thumper in gravy
Go have a look http://www.rivercottage.net/search/recipes/rabbit/

I've often thought it might go well as a curry

I think it would be a bit light & dry on its own, maybe mix it with lots of veg and rich gravy and suet pastry? I've got a wartime cookbook with that recipe in it. It calls for one rabbit leg  so the whole family would live off it for a week at that rate lol

I had rabbit burger once... It was my Great Nan's and by extension my Mum's recipe but because she has had them as pets she can't eat them any more.

As I remember it; Makes 2 good sized burgers

400g Minced rabbit
30g Bread (crumbed on a cheese grater)
1 Carrot (diced and fried)
1 Onion (diced and fried)
2tbsp tomato purée
1 lightly beaten egg
1tsp coriander
2tsp oregano

Its all quite easy from here just place all the ingredients in a bowl and divide into 2 patties and from my own experience shallow fry them or freeze them before grilling (just because they flake a lot otherwise).
