The Year Without Summer

Post by SPJ »

THE YEAR WITHOUT SUMMER: 1816 and the Volcano that Darkened the World & Changed History.

By William K. Klingaman & Nicholas P. Klingaman

Basically, it tells the story of how on April 5 1815, the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia. Was shook by a massive explosion as Mt Tamborra erupted. And how it effected the world and history.

It is a really good read. If not slightly depressive, when you consider the effect it had on the world.

£10+ for the kindle version. Ouch! I'll be asking my library to get this one in... looking forward to reading it though. Good call!
