Please excuse spelling of Cactus I had a complete typing fail moment.
I have been a survivalist since 1987 and spent several years in the services.
Just a few tips for you here.
Bug out routes - just remember that other people may have the same idea but will be travelling in panic mode so consider if you really do need to leave and have several options available to you.
Radio - get a CB, learn how to use it, get confident using one and always be nice
Respirator - The canister will need changing every 24 hours! plus will need to be changed if it gets wet for any reason. So make sure you have enough canisters to see you through a prolonged period just in case. They also don't work if you have a beard as they cant seal properly on your face
NBC suit needs to be changed after ANY contamination and discarded safely ie bury it in plastic as you don't want anything left on it tagging along for the ride
One of your 2 biggest tools are Diplomacy and Negotiation, this will allow you to interact with other people in order to keep yourself safe.
Water is great just remember that you will also need nutrition and supplements with massive shelf life

Get used to walking every week and stay relatively fit and healthy, you would be amazed the effect this can have in keeping you alive for longer.
Please please please remember the emergency services will always be trying to help you no matter how bad things get and if it does get past that be nice first as most people will just be frightened and will seek advise and safety for their family.
be safe all
