This may not be wholly in line with forum etiquette so I will hold off posting photos unless requested.
Mrs Briggs has field-preparing game birds down to a fine art with the minimum amount of fuss, mess and effort. The method she uses requires the least amount of plucking to get to the breast meat and the legs. In a SHTF scenario, this method would have additional benefits because it leaves the minimum of trace and is somewhat similar to how the carcass would be if it had been fed upon by a bird of prey.
No need to gut and wash the bird through (saves on clean water) and no need to bone/fillet. This method gets breast and leg meat into a frying pan in under five minutes. So, if you'd like to see the photos with some text, either post or send me a PM.
As this is a potentially touchy subject, I'd just like to point out we only shoot what we eat and we use this method when we are off-grid.
Briggs.

Re: Fast Field Preparation of Pheasant/Game birds
Personally i dont have a problem with pictures,.. Seen far worse in slaughter houses/ meat processing sites...
is she "skinning" them rather than plucking?
Not my favorite meat but food is food espeically when these creatures seem hell bent on suicide (cost me a new bumper 3 years ago)
My farmer mate can gut and skin a rabbit in a matter of seconds. hardly subtle but it works very well ...... then leaves the entrails in places to attract "fantastic mr fox"

I've got no problem with pics either. It's possible to find butchering/dressing instructions on YT, as well as lots of different sites around the net. All useful info

I think that you need to be explicit in the thread title and say something like
Explicit photos - game bird butchery.
That way people can choose not to open it. We did have some complaints a while back about showing rabbits (I think) being butchered as it wasn't clear that there were photos.
Personally I have no problem with it but others may disagree.

It is a useful skill everyone should learn and the process of killing and preparing animals has been going on for thousands of years so I don't see why anyone should be offended by it. It is a skill I have yet to learn so I would personally appreciate the education.

It's a very useful skill one which is needed in survival situations, I taught my children from a young age to clean and dress animals as part of life, pictures are needed to help people who are new to this skill, I agree with preppingsu that a small note about explicit butchery would help just in case of people who are put off by such things.

I agree completely with the last three comments. I would be amazed, and very disappointed, if anyone on a forum such as this, was offended. Gutting a fish, skinning rabbits etc., are skills that everyone needs to know and practice. You can only go so far on tinned food.
