Water how long will it keep
I have been researching how long it will keep, I have come up with a few lengths of time which differ from months to years, I have 25lt barrels which I store it in but unsure how long to keep it for,any advice please

Re: Water how long will it keep
As I understand it, there's a lot of variables that can effect the storage of water ranging from plastics in the container to direct sunlight forming algae. I'm going for black, sealed, potable tanks from Ecosure as my best option but I'm really not 100% sure if they can keep water indefinitely so I'll be rotating it out and perhaps doing a flush once in a while. I wish I had the definite answer!
Another quandry I'm facing is do I buy another water tank or a Playstation 4....

I recently experienced Plymouth City centre so that's why I prep.

Hi Guys,
My understanding of water is that it doesn't go bad . . . . . . however the plastic bottles of time deteriorate and therefore tainting the water thus giving it an expiry date.
What I have done is caught my own water (Rain) heated it (I know its clean, but I like to sterilise) and put it into steam cleaned bottles as glass does not deteriorate I keep it in a sealed container stopping light into it. I opened a bottle I prepared 3 years ago last month and drank it chilled and was better than bottled water and im still going strong!!

IMHO, so long as it is chemically ok, no chemical containments, then you can keep it forever and use boiling, distillation and filtration techniques to turn the bad water into good water again. Sure the first two techniques require energy, but are useful principles to know
