I have something similar , they are great at purifying water but are slow at it

Quaid is right, you need to look at the Pore size.

"Nominal" is how big they are on average and "Absolute" is how big the largest is.
In an ideal world your Absolute will be 0.02microns as Viruses are around 0.03microns.

I think I've seen those "Soldier Filters" on Ebay, no more info seems to be available.

This is what I've got (First Need Deluxe), bought it pre-owned from the B of E

Had to buy a new filter from These People they're really nice folks and very helpful as my setup was an obsolete model.... Sold me the Elite XL filter after reassuring me that the pumps and connectors were compatable (They emailed me several times answering all my dumb questions)
