Hi from Southend, Essex

Post by Fred_Bear »

Hi,

All the best for 2014.

I decided to join as this seems a sensible and balanced group with plenty of useful advice.

For a number of years whenever I mention the potential impact of solar flares, volcanoes, general breakdown in society, etc, I get the raised eye brows look that signals I am considered 'strange'. At least in this forum I can discus things with people that understand the reality of the numerous risks society faces, and how to prepare for them. Hopefully none will come true, but 'better safe than sorry'.

regards

Fred

Welcome to the forum. It always surprises me too when people react as if things will never go wrong. Whenever I get the quizzical look (which isn't often as I don't mention it that much) I gently remind them that the Scouts motto is "be prepared" and no one bats an eyelid at that.
