Halloumi cheese

Post by Hillybilly444 »

Not found mention of it on here before so I thought I'd share...Halloumi (squeaky!) cheese (from Cyprus originally) has a long "shelf life" of around a year (it's preserved in brine and vacuum packed)...longer than any other cheese I've come across.
If anyone's not already familiar with it, it's best grilled or fried in a ridged pan (it doesn't melt), has a chewy texture and is delicious!

Interesting information! Might have to look into some next time I visit the Supermarket. I will, however, not be able to resist making a joke (Hello you, Halloumi!)
