That would be great I love sharing and gaining knowledge on outdoor survival
I take my two sons out into the wild to pass on the things that I know so that if anything happens to me I know they can survive and look after there mum and sister .
We usually only take what we can carry on our backs as we need to hike some distance
I always have emergency supplies in the car when we go ie shelter food water
But when we leave the car they get left aswell and we live off the land for days at a time making shelter gathering food and water and having a good old time. The boys love it and I love teaching them in this way because there are no distractions such as phones or playstations.
For 2014 they will be using all the skills they have learned so far and we will be going on a mock scenario trip to the wild for a couple of weeks I'm planning on throwing in a couple of tests while we are away just to see how well they react under pressure.
Stay safe and survive
We take very little food with us only what we can carry on our backs aswell as all our gear. We have had luck with squirrel rabbit pigeon and fish we also forage for greens but I only do that as I don't want the kids getting into bother however most plants are ok nettles are nice just wilted over the fire.beer999 wrote:Is anyone saying they can live of the land for a week without bringing any food at all with them? If so can you tell me what you eat and what equipment you take with you? Beer
