Hi all,
I would like to re-introduce myself and my family.
We are preppers for many reasons.
I'm a country boy from the US. I served 20yrs in the US Army as an infantryman and retired in 2003. Right now as of the last 5 years I have been out of work due to the past coming back to haunt me in the form of PTSD. With luck and continued hard work I intend to be working again soon.
So these two points are very significant to me in terms of being a prepper.
First of all. Coming from small town Indiana. I learned at an early age to live a different lifestyle from what is the mainstay currently. Part of that came from the fact that there are a good amount of Amish in the area I grew up in. I may not share their religious convictions, yet I can appreciate the strength of their lifestyle.
Living in a form that is resilient has been forgotten in this modern age in the western world. We all have to admit that bad things happen in this world. There is nothing that can be done to prevent it. So we believe that the lifestyle of a prepper is really a return to sensibility.
The second point is that my previous job introduced me to how to live in strife. Standing in a foxhole, knee deep with water in the middle of a blizzard will focus your mind on how to manage in difficult situations.
So I am hoping to use this forum as a way to share the lessons we have learned in realigning to a preppers lifestyle.
Please do not mistake the fact that our way is the best way. Each of us has our own path to follow. If you find anything of use in the musings of this madman then all to the good. If not then discard it as you see fit.
Thanks
A return and introduction

A return and introduction
I don't do politics or religion. Seen to many people die because of these.
I post to contribute so take as you see fit. My way is not the only way.
Cheers

Re: A return and introduction
Hello and welcome back to the Forum.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
