Hi All

Well i have been a 'stalker' on here for a while now!Thought it best i actually introduce myself!

So like alot of you on here im concerned about the future prospects for this and other countries and in being so have decided to do something about it,especially after witnessing how our government are doing very little to support the poor people who are being affected by the appalling weather we are experiencing...but we will leave that rant where it is for the time being!

So at the moment im at the stage where i know i want/need to prep for whatever may happen,to protect my family and i.Just trying to decide to what extent do i go,reading the forums on here there is some very good advice being given.

So,i look forward to sharing ideas and knowledge with all in the near future and getting to know you,and you i,soon.

P.S And if anyone here is or knows of anyone suffering due to recent floods or winds then please accept my sincere best wishes to a safe and speedy recovery and wish you a safe few weeks.

Welcome, when I was starting out I made a list of all the events I wanted to prepare for, then re-arranged it into order of probability. A lot of preps for one thing you will find suit a multitude of scenarios

Thanks for the suggestions,seems logical!
Im very lucky with what may affect me directly as i live by the sea but i am top of a hill so no danger of flooding!Although flooding became a concern and actually kick started my prepping as i pass through areas prone to tidal flooding when i collect my son on weekends,and the thought of not being able to reach him or getting stuck on the way home is just unimaginable so first on the list is a landrover project (im lucky that i get plenty of leave with work so can dedicate time to projects)
I am already lucky enough to own a self built motorhome which would be our SHTF vehicle with the landy in support??!

anyway have to go and repair the fence that the 'hurricane' winds blew down yesterday!not bad damage considering ..only fence...some greenhouse glass....oh and i found the chisckens and ducks roaming around the fields as the wind blew open the gate to their enclosure!they were having a great time!...

Convince other half of need to prepare.

This is after my preps helped during two power cuts, a boiler failure at my parents and her needing time off work after dislocating both knees.

Although she does now ask from time to time if there is anything new in the 'Zombie Stash'

Hiya mate, Im also a new member and based in Pembs a lot of the time.

I can get access to a fair few Landrover ancillaries from work (bulbs, door trim, fuses etc). If you need any give me a shout and I can try and drop them off face to Face or DLB. Whichever suits you.

As a youngling she was 'tapped' by a car, damaging the cartilage and weakening the joints. After that it's been - Dislocation when moving furniture, dislocation slipping on ice, dislocation whacking on desk. Now there's hardly any muscle strength, each dislocation making the next one easier and more likely(has physio exercises to try and strengthen them, but a stubborn aversion to exercise)
Lack of such exercise and a 'slight' (if she's reading .... not so slight if she's not !) increase in weight resulted in the double dislocation after simply being on her feet for 10 hours at work (high street bookmakers) ! One just buckled going up a single step, the sudden shift in body mass and twisting, forcing the other one to pop. Waiting now for consultation with specialist to discuss an operation.
