Hi from North Yorkshire

Post by Huorn »

Hi folks,

Been reading the old forum over the last couple of weeks and liked what I saw! Been into the prepper side of things for a while now, though the extremist survival types don't do it for me.

I've had and account at LSG for a couple of years, thought I'd see what other thoughts and ideas are out there.

Well done on getting this forum up and running so quickly, very impressive!

Welcome Huorn,
Come on in and pull up a chair. We are a friendly bunch, although some maddness does occur from time to time. But we're just one big happy family.
We offer what we can and learn just as much!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I would have replied earlier, but had a load of logs arrive which needed stacking. All done now and cup of tea in hand!

I'll write a little more about my preps soon, but this afternoon I'm out with the toboggin!

A little more about my preps then.

Definitely a family prepper, and as I said before I've been sorting stuff for a while now. I have a couple of allotments and an orchard for my bees. Keen on the outdoors generally and canoes/dinghies. Was a kid in the seventies and the three day week and rolling power cuts made an impression on me. So we've always had candles/Tilley lamps stashed ready for use; you know the kind of thing.

Always tried to keep myself fairly fit with outdoor activities and working the land, but since the family came along that's been more tricky and lost a lot of ground to fish 'n' chips, so for the last six months or so have been solidly improving my fitness levels with a kettlebell. Now lost over two stone and much trimmer and pleased with progress.

I think that'll do for now, but I'll start posting about specific topics soon.

Huorn,

Good to see you over here. Yes, your suspicions are right! I'm also on LSG. Would also like to know about bees as it's been suggested we keep some as part of community growing project I/m involved in.
