Went to Lidl today and bought some really rather OK gardening tools for next to nothing (the secateurs aren't going to be great for anything but the gentlest pruning and I'll get a better pair for the tough stuff). Each year I either manage to lose trowels, secateurs, etc in the undergrowth or throw them in the brown garden waste bins by mistake with armfuls of branches. I've even found them a year on at the bottom of a large composter by which time they've completely rusted. Also got some seedling trays with lids (non-heated propagators). I should also have bought the cans of veggies and potatoes (the ones I forgot yesterday) and the very large amount of seed packets - flowers as well as veg - it's not the end of civilisation yet :) - I actually bought in Morrisons and paid much, much more for :(. I'm assuming the quality is exactly the same.
