Re: Strobe or beacon in your bug out/ghb?
I have one of the below hooked on to some rear molle straps for walking at night it has 5 modes, bright and the batteries last for about 12 hours on turned on, its only a quid. it does a solid job for the purpose intended. the plastic is a bit weak so I have a spare. http://www.poundland.co.uk/my-cy...

Re: HEADTORCH 1000 LUMEN - ADVICE PLEASE
andy, thanks yes I know what you mean. On the moors its a bland landscape though and the light power is as much about distance for this environment than anything else, also don't want a broken / sprained ankle from misplaced steps. any how the search continues.... i have also asked the question on t...

Re: Compass location distance thing
happy new year ! i must say mine has sat on a shelf for the last couple of months and haven't done much with it. however, to answer some of your questions: Few questions: Q1 There are some lots of trees in the area we walked, will these obscure signal? Re: Compass location distance thing
What I would say is that if you do get one and plan to go for a hike then test yours thoroughly before you go out, also I would suggest a back up method just in case there are any issues. for the £30 inc delivery its worth it.
