Re: Moving from Prepare to Implement.
Am also thinking about more local comms. Currently looking at some PMR radios but range is not great. Note that Baofeng walkie talkies are able to use PMR frequencies, but not legally because they are a bit too powerful ;) They are cheap as chips. Most actual PMRs are rubbish. We have a pair of Ret...

Re: Moving from Prepare to Implement.
It looks to me as if I need to up my prepping game. I need to: (in no particular order) keep more cash at home This is on my list too, but I'm also going to include small change. We had a recent power cut on our local high street, no problem most of the shops just pulled out a notebook and calculat...

Re: Moving from Prepare to Implement.
I see the National Risk Register now posts the threat to the supply of drinking water due to infrastructure failure or a cyber attack as CRITICAL. THREE DAYS WITHOUT WATER CAN BE FATAL. So make plans now to collect, store and purify rainwater. Waterbutts filled from downspouts, spread out tarpaulins...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
I too am on BP medication, Perindopril, 6mg a day, a 4mg and a 2mg, strictly a 28 day prescription doctor sends straight to the pharmacy no chance of getting it earlier. Over time I have increased my stock by missing out the 2 mg tablet 2 or 3 times a week, making sure I check my BP a couple of time...

WeI use 4Life coolant in our vehicles, Andy that’s a good idea to flush radiant core out with a hose,
our every day transport is 25 years old so there must be plenty of muck in there.

Re: My longest prep
We both did a Red Cross course through Scouts but that was over 30 years ago, some things you don’t forget but over time you loose confidence in your abilities. And advice changes years back it was 5 compressions to 2 breaths More recent medical knowledge worked out it's no good as you don't even g...

Re: Advice for a hopeless gardener
I can't get either to grow - & I know it is a slug/snail problem which nothing seems to touch. Some years ago we had a snail & slug problem, so just after dark we went out, wife with torch me with rubber gloves and a plastic bag with some salt in. First night over 70, second night over 40, ...
