hey guys i am going to be meeting my fellow area 9ers end of march for a get together/camping trip what would be the equipment i need for camping ?

It depends how you want to do it :)

If you are practising for an evacuation then take the stuff you normally have prepared, which I guess might be things like a light weight tent or maybe a bivi, basic cooking equipment and food that is more to the ration end of the scale.

But, you may prefer not to test your Preps out this way. In which case you want more comfort and luxury :D

Here's a list that's served me well:

something to carry it in
something to sleep under
something to sleep in
something to sleep on
something to cook over
something to cook in
something to carry water
method of lighting fire
food and water
medical kit
illumination
wash kit
clothing
knife and axe
navigational equipment.

Joking asside a small entrenching shovel can be very handy to dig a moat round your pitch if your on the bottom of a slight gradient to divert water from running through your tent/ basha... Seems the done thing on the continent but dont think the big caravan and camping clubs would like the idea of digging up the manicured grass :twisted:
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine
