Newbie prepper in Kent

Post by PrepMumma4 »

Hi I'm 25 yr old wife and mum to 4 young children. I've decided to start prepping so I can feed and protect my family when I need too. In need of lots of advice :D

hello and welcome .
the best advice i can give is ,, start small but think big .

a few extra bits in the usual shopping soon add up to a big stock of supply`s , just remember to rotate your stock . first in first out .

Thank you, already getting lots of ideas reading all the forum posts :)
I'm hoping to stock up on food and water first and foremost, where is the best place to store water and tins etc?

Tins - somewhere dry and cool, not too many temperature fluctuations. And out of sight of prying eyes.

Water - as above regarding temp and dark - light will cause algae to grow!

There have been lots of dicussions over the years about hidden storage - have a mooch around. :D

hello and welcome .

1. Do you have any camping equipment i.e gas stove, mess tins etc these will be useful for your preps.

2. when food shopping take advantage of special offers on tinned food you like and buy more for your stores.

3. Read the forum, there is so much useful stuff on here.

4. remember the journey of a thousand miles starts with one foot step. In other words don't let it overwhelm you.

BTW I grew up in kent near Sittingbourne, mum was the original prepper Larder had about six months food in it all the time.
