world is changing all the time, empires rose and fell, and people still live. I believe that European civilisation the way we know it now will fall, but people will still live. the fall will be caused probably due to economic reasons - basicly governments will stop supporting lazy parasites by giving them money and houses, there will be no gay parades, no tolerance for other religions etc at least not the way we see it now, no free education, no free healthcare, no state pensions, nothing for free as governments can't borrow money forever to keep it this way - but still I bet it will take tens of years to get to this point. That's why I prioritise paying of mortgage as fast as possible and attempt to invest rather than prepp on a massive scale by topping up my fridge and cupboard, buying all the expensive stuff etc, and think that 1 month supplies will do for me, rest will depend on skills, fitness etclonewolf wrote:you (and others) may not think any serious SHTF will ever happen, that's is of course your perogitive, but do you want to take the chance? I mean wouldn't it be better to at least plan for something in the hope that it never happens, rather than not planning and it does? I believe that with more and more people on the planet and with ever dwindling resources something will finally have to give, maybe it wont happen for awhile but on the other hand maybe it will? who knows? I'd rather be thought a fool when it dosent happen than be caught without supplies or a plan when it does. you "pays your money and you takes your choice" as the saying goes.
and remember - wealthy people have it easier
