Normally I can get about 6 tins of spaghetti for about 2 quid, 6 tins of pasta 1.50, 4 bags of rice 40p each, 12 bottles of water 2 quid and 3 2l of soft drinks for about 1.50 aswell
and then with the rest I tend to keep to buy bits of kit like tarps or firelighters or flint and steel.
Good point about the drink. In terms of a small event such as bad weather it'd be nice to drink something other than water - I hadn't thought of that.

Ha ha no you're not alone, I buy the boring stuff like Meths, Para Cord etc etc. The missus sorts the food supplies out, came through the front door the other night and nearly wiped out falling over 25 litres of water in the hallway. Bless her.

I buy a mixture, some foods, equipment, drinks, plastic cutlery, melamine plates, jars for food, medicines.

Yep always best to keep mixing it up. Thing is I guess if you've been prepping for a while then it's just maintenance and replacing the stuff you've used.

Not been doing really really serious prepps for that long but once I started I made a conscious effort to get something every time I went in any shops even if only a box of plasters. I add things to the weekly fresh food shop and the monthly big shop. It soon mounts up :)

My stash of "naughties" is really the only stash I keep scoffing, I can't help myself

Decaff, we discovered a bar of chocolate that was 6 months out of date. Purely in the interests of research and science  we ate it.

Can confirm galaxy tastes good, even out of date! :P

Only side effect was increase in waistline

OK, back on topic, a good (IMO) purchase is nappy sacks. You can get a couple of hundred for less than 20p in the major supermarkets. In a shtf scenario (or even when the bin men go on strike) rubbish will need to be disposed of as hygienically as possible and the nappy sack (tied up) provides an extra layer. If you are going to be using paper plates and disposable cutlery your going to need to wrap them after use until you have an opportunity to burn

I have peachy flavoured nappy sacks in abundance we use all the time for smelly stuff in the bin. You can also get smaller scented bags for feminine hygiene purposes which are also handy when out and about and they are stronger than nappy sacks.
