I've always been interested in self reliance and have made (mental) plans with regards to what I would do in any given scenario (to the amusement of my friends).
I'm now at a point in my life where I'm financially solvent and am looking for a new home (hopefully with plenty of space for prep storage) so I want to make a more concerted effort to prepare effectively.
Spurred on by watching the national geographic series 'Doomsday Preppers', even though I'm sure they pick the most extreme people for affect, I want to prep for loss of infrastructure i.e lack of food in the shops, no electricity and resulting social unrest/ panic.
I know, I know, I sound like one of those crazies
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail!
