Our house has actually been called that a few times :D , but then again it's also been called untidy and cluttered  ( it's also been called much worse too , sort of thing that rhymes with "hit hole" )
We kept all the baby things from when our daughter was younger and nine years later we find ourselves looking after a family members baby so just trotted it all out again , just one little example of how hoarding , or being prudent as we prefer , pays off :D

Its only a hoard when it starts to impact on your quality of life ......... I hope thats how it works anyway

Funny really how on one hand hoard is looked at as something bad or to be ashamed of ( thinking of the Hoarders type of program) but on the other hand I live not a million miles away from where the Staffordshire hoard was found and that's described as marvellous , wondrous etc etc and definately destined for the skip :?

its amazing the waste by companies and especially the military!
I scrounged a brand new 6 cylinder engine from an RAF ground power unit, never used, still in crate and fitted it to my old classic ford zephyr!
Nowadays im finding industrial estates great places to salvage guff, especially old pallets etc.
Always feel a bit 'dodgy' though when liberating thrown out stuff, must have guilty conscience!lol

Always ask, some skips are for recycling and the contents are "Valuable Scrap"
Near where I work, one place gives away scrap wood to anybody, another only lets selected people have it and a third sells it..... Very import not to get them muddled up

Not just workplace find but outside abandoned by the road side finds too. I had been walking my dog through a forestry commission wood and every time we went down a particular path I noticed some chicken wire in a ditch. After a few weeks and no one had either reported it or collected it I decided to pick it up and take it home with me - after all it was a danger to wild life as it had jagged edges and was all bent up. My dog ran over it so I figured I was removing a hazard! Folded it up and dragged it back to the car under my arm.
