I did discuss the knife with him and the response was 'but I've got good knives' I pointed out that they were all knocking on a bit now and I would like to get him something he didn't actually 'need' but would like to have
The result? Lots of looking at different knives with someone saying 'it is nice, but it's a lot of money to spend when I don't actually need it' I have decided to ease off for the next couple of months and then when the garden imitates jungle I will make overtures again. Or maybe I should just get him a machete....... ..

I got myself a kukri with Amazon vouchers that I got from Missus Deeps, it wasn't something I would normally have bought and its a lot more compact than a machete. There's probably a load of stuff he would get instead though if he's happy with his knives. Maybe open it up a bit, see if he wants a new rucksack or whatever. Or of course booze.
Mr Stasher may well like a Bill Hook. A tradition British tool used for hedge laying,coppicing and in the middle ages it was also used as a pole weapon. I prefer them to machetes.

I like the cold steel bushman jansman, in fact I'm wondering if it forms part of Deeps 'pour femme' zombie slaying kit it looks quite light. BUT I really do like the bill hook hamradioop, I think that may be something alpha would find interesting as a tool. Thanks for the additional input everyone. Much appreciated
I'd love to get my hands on the kabar becker bk9. Ive seen that put through some crazy tests. The guy used it to chop down a tree then process it as firewood.

Booze and knives, two awesome things which I should stop combining. I think there's a gap in the market for a book on surviving the apocalypse while pleasantly bladdered. Possibly with a go to section that quickly finds the cocktail you can knock up with what's to hand. (Vodka, lentils, malibu and toilet duck anyone?)

I got given an M9 bayonet a couple of years ago, excellent bit of kit, even down to the bayonet/scabbard wire cutting combo, much better than the UK SA80 version. I can't find a molle sheath for it though, so may have to manufacture something.
