Can always remember my grandad cleaning his overalls in a big catering size pan on the stove top with a healthy dose of soap flakes using wooden tongs to stir them up.... Gran wouldn't let them go in the top loader

Bucket and plunger = problem solved! :D i know cause i have to hand wash atm as my machine died :(

All my bug out clothing is odder and bacterial resistant material so it needs less washing than normal thankfully, I carry a fold away bucket so I tend to wash my stuff in that. Rather not have it smelling like smoke from a camp fire.

I recently saw a foot operated one! Looked like a peddle bin and you just pressed the peddle to get it working. I will see if I can find it :P

corrected spelling mistake: I wasn't going to WE if I can find it at all, I was in fact going to SEE if I could find it :oops:
