Doesn't matter how small they are, they are still a fixed blade and so therefore shouldn't be carried.

Not quite correct Devonian, you may carry a fixed blade in the UK if you have reason to do so, so sitting fishing by the river its OK to have a fixed blade but shopping in tesco probably not
