Water
Re: Water
Hi guys, thought I'd share this, I bought a new intermediate bulk container (ibc) last year, it holds a little over 1000 litres. I've insulated with silvered loft insulation and cladded it with shiplap, felt roof. Water is an important prep, if you're not storing it you may run into problems when it hits the fan
Re: Water
if water is cut off due to frozen pipes in winter/heavy snow ..can't you just boil (clean) snow for water? or fill a bucket with snow and it surely eventually melt and be good enough for flushing the loo with?
I have been collecting bottled water too as well as food as have 2 dogs who'd need water to drink too. surely melted boiled snow could be used for filling hot water bottle for example instead of using valuable drinking bottled water for that...melted snow for flushing loo as surely if brought a bucket of snow in it would eventually melt?

Re: Water
It doesn't melt into very much water, how much depends on the type of snow. And it often is quite dirty. But you can bring in snow for the dogs to eat instead of giving them water.katilea wrote:if water is cut off due to frozen pipes in winter/heavy snow ..can't you just boil (clean) snow for water? or fill a bucket with snow and it surely eventually melt and be good enough for flushing the loo with?
