Hello Kaibosh - I'm a lone prepper too, I guess, though I've mentioned a few things to very close relatives, and to one friend, and at least they don't seem to think I'm insane.Kaibosh wrote:Ok, so I guess I'm prepping for pretty much every scenario then. I think I got enough stash for a few months or so. The neighbours will probably appreciate a little help as long as they don't find out I got more than they have! Yep, I guess as long as I keep my head down and can defend my own 'castle' I may survive the onslaught!
I'd advise you to make a "project" of your neighbours - encouraging self reliance, sort of thing. A family next door to me runs a sort of Man With Van off the books biz, the commuter on the other side thinks nothing of wielding a hedgecutter all weekend, and prunes his own trees, a bloke over the road is a carpenter who seasons wood for his woodburner in his garage, his next door but one keeps chickens ... you get the idea. There's more than that, too. There might be people very close by to you that wouldn't be part of the "onslaught", but could be part of a community with you. Much safer, and much more enjoyable.
