Fortunately, I’ve been cutting my own hair for 20 years, saves going to and paying a barber, one cutter has lasted me years, but got two spares.
Means I can cut my hair the moment it is needing done, no travelling, out money, etc., beard trimmer supplied too, so I don’t look like a caveman...well...not all the time at least !
I’ve never understood with some survival films/tv series, how their hair stays the same, not exactly unkempt, same with beards, or being clean shaven, when you know they don’t have such kit with them !
Shampoo, shaving foam, razors, brush, comb, mirror, scissors, etc.
Ha ha!

I have cut ( shaved really) my own rather bald head for 25+ years. And clean shaven too. Wear a beard if you want- that’s great- but don’t do stubble AKA sloppy standards!
I have used a straight razor for many years, probably because my dad did. However, when I see the price of razor blades, I just think , “ Kerching!”, I wouldn’t pay that! But I digress.
How a person lives is their business. We are a democratic society. Get that last word? Society. The Lockdown has shown that we are social animals. We need human contact, if only to maintain mental health. My neighbour, a mental health nurse, told me that they are now seeing an avalanche of cases , many children and teenagers who have not fared well.
If someone wishes to live alone, then fine. That person though, unless living as a Hermit in sack cloth on a remote island, is STILL part of a community. A community/ society arranges itself so that food, water, power, healthcare and a thousand other things keep the wheels turning. We saw what happens when a wheel fell off the societal wagon back in March/April. The shelves were stripped of essential goods, and folks were worried about a community breakdown. At the start of Lockdown many folks who lived alone ( and 25% of uk households do) needed outside help as they we’re self - isolators, elderly and shielding, disabled, or just plain scared. They needed community, or outside help if you like.
We live how we live.Your choice in a democratic society. But as I said, unless you are a Hermit on an island, you are part of a community.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
