The Complete Book of Self-Sufficiency by John Seymour has always being a favourite of mine.

I read that pdf a few years ago, then bought the hard copy the other month.
It's a really good book in which he covers everything from growing fields of weat to tanning rabit skins.

It's my birthday next week and I asked wifey for that exact Self-Sufficiency book for my birthday.

She promptly went into the conservatory and brought a copy in off the book case. She had it before we got married and it had been sitting there for nearly 15 years. (we have a hell of a lot of books and most of hers are girly ones).

That was one of the cheapest birthday pressies she will ever get me.
